Donating Quilts to Charity

 
This past Christmas(2013), instead of exchanging gifts with my siblings, we agreed to donate our time or gifts to charities since Christmas is the season for giving. My giving will be donating several quilts to organizations that distribute quilts to those in need. The time, cost and love I stitch into each quilt will be passed on to someone in need.  

I recently donated a bed quilt to Quilts of Valor, dedicated to my dad and older brother, both of whom are war veterans.

American Independence: Quilt: 65x87; star blocks in red,blue,tan,brown stars prints; red,tan cols outer border with 9-patch cornerstones; machine-pieced; American Hero backing; cotton batting; machine quilted by Anne Engelhardt of Anne's Quilting Frenzy, a volunteer longarm quilter for QOV.

I recently donated a lap quilt to Project Linus, dedicated to my younger brother.

 Whirls: lap quilt: 45x45; leftover half-square triangles from previous project to form long-tail pinwheels in multi colors on ecru dot bkgrnd; multi solids outer border; multi-color paperclips backing; cotton batting; machined pieced and machine quilted







I recently donated a bed quilt to Project Linus, dedicated to my sister.

Farm March: bed quilt: 50x69; various farm animals strips and scrappy circles on white bkground; machine-pieced; white elephants on green backing; cotton batting; machine quilted
